Panoramics - A Vision was founded in April 2023 by Dr. Shamini Ayyadhury as a new initiative with its own mission, leadership, and identity, dedicated to building a national ecosystem around spatial and single-cell technologies. On 8 July 2025, it was incorporated as a federal corporation in Canada.

In its earliest days, Panoramics communicated with the community through an existing Slack workspace - originally home to the Toronto scAnalysis Working Group, a single-cell community founded in 2017. Dr. Ayyadhury used the workspace to reach members and share Panoramics' events, and it was simultaneously rebranded.

 

Upon incorporation in 2025, Panoramics established its own channels, and the original workspace was returned to its founders, who have since renamed it the Canada Single Cell Working Group.
